Miranda Cosgrove has kept her love life private over the years. The iCarly actress has been linked to several celebrities, including former Nickelodeon star James Maslow and Nat Wolff, but she has not publicly named any of her past romantic partners. Around the same time, she reportedly had an affair with Nickelodeon star Nat Wolff, but the rumored relationship was never addressed publicly. Years later, Cosgrove was secretly having an affair with Noah Centineo. In April 2013, the two attended a Los Angeles Lakers game together, and a few months later, Cosgrove posted a photo of himself and Centineo at the Despicable Me 2 premiere. However, they did not reveal whether they were dating or just friends at the time.
In a February 2011 Seventeen cover story, Cosgrove spoke more generally about her first serious relationship. “The only serious boyfriend I’ve ever had was someone I met at work,” she said at the time, adding that they had been together for three years. “It wasn’t that long ago that we broke up. He’s the one guy I really, really liked. People say there are people you never forget, and I feel the same way. Even if we don’t talk much anymore, he’ll be the one I run away from.”
In recent years, she has occasionally shared details about her romance and how she approaches dating when promoting her work. During an appearance on The Talk in November 2024, she even revealed that her type is “tall, nerdy, and gangly.”

While promoting the iCarly reboot in 2022, Cosgrove told Life & Style that she felt quite nostalgic for her character’s chaotic dating life. “My character always has bad dates and doesn’t have much luck in love, which is similar to me in real life,” she said. “So it’s kind of fun to play these scenes because they’re super over-the-top recreations of some of my experiences.”
Cosgrove went on to say about her dating history: “I’ve always had some interesting and strange dating experiences.” She added, “I don’t know, but maybe it’s because I live in LA and how the app works and the whole thing is so weird.”

In a May 2024 interview with Bustle magazine, Cosgrove said, “I’d love to meet someone and have a relationship, but I’m not really working on it.” At the time, she revealed that she was using the dating app Raya, but said she rarely used it. “I feel like it’s my fault that I don’t talk to people, but I hardly even look at them,” she explained. “Then you just swipe. It’s almost like a game. And even if you talk to someone for a little bit, you’re not actually meeting them.”
She also thought about how her own preferences in a partner might play a role. “I always try to be super skinny and nerdy,” Cosgrove said, joking that her two serious exes “were people who would never survive the apocalypse.”
The actress then revealed the type of partner her father would like her to have with her. “In my dad’s mind, the perfect man for me would be someone like the one in ‘The Notebook.’ You’ll love it,'” she added with a laugh. “I remember telling my dad when I had my last relationship, ‘I really like this guy and I think I’m going to end up with him.'” So my dad said, ‘What can he make?’ ” I was like, “What?” ”
She confessed that she used her co-star to make her anonymous ex-lover jealous.
Cosgrove opened up about what he typically does after a breakup while promoting his 2025 film The Wrong Paris. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show in September of the same year, she admitted that she used co-star Pearson Fode to make her ex-boyfriend jealous. “[Pearson]is just really cute and crazy,” she said, explaining that she was going through a breakup before filming the movie. Although she and Fode weren’t dating, she said she posted about him on social media knowing it would “really upset my ex.”
In September 2025, Cosgrove confirmed that she is single and talked about how she envisions meeting a partner.
Despite everything Cosgrove has been through, she remains open to the idea of finding love, but she isn’t actively pursuing it. In a September 2025 interview with People magazine, she admitted that she is single and “not working very hard” to change her situation.
She admitted that she still harbors romantic fantasies. “I feel like I have to try a little harder,” she said. “I’m one of those crazy people in a way who thinks they’re going to run into someone in a coffee shop…I wish[the encounter]was real. Sure, I think it happens sometimes. It had to have happened to someone there, right?”
