Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s twin children, Maximilian “Max” David Muniz and Emme Maribel Muniz, are celebrating a major milestone in their lives by turning 18 and officially taking the first step into adulthood. The teens celebrated their birthday yesterday and their mother shared a touching Instagram to mark the occasion.
The pop star reflected on her earliest memories of Max and Emme’s life, along with a montage of clips showing the brothers from their childhood, childhood and teenage years.
“You were born in the middle of the night during the biggest and most beautiful snowstorm New York has seen in years!!” Lopez captioned the post. “I remember sitting in the car and looking out the window. That night, for the last few minutes before I gave birth to you, as I held you both in my womb, everything was glowing white. It was as if God was making sure you entered a world filled with pure magic!! In my heart, I knew your life was always going to be like this!!”
“When I held you as a toddler, I can honestly say I felt like I was holding two angels sent directly from heaven. My life has changed forever. I can’t believe you’re an adult now… 18 years old! You are such kind-hearted, generous, and loving people. On this day 18 years ago, God brought your talents and spirit to make this world a better place. How lucky the world was when I decided to send you here with all my heart, because that’s what you did for me.” Anyone who is lucky enough to know you every day will never be able to express the depth of emotion, love and care I feel for you with the words “I love you.” ”

Lopez added that she, Max, and Emme “have always had each other’s backs and been a steadying presence through every blizzard,” and promised that “no matter how big we get, that will always be the case.”
“Always remember, Lulu, you are my sunshine…and Max, you are amazing just the way you are!! I love you, I love you. Happy 18th birthday my Wonder Twins!!!” she concluded her post.
The Kiss of the Spider-Woman actress has historically celebrated Max and Emme’s birthdays with Instagram tributes. She made a similar post to celebrate her children turning 17, and also shared a video of their 16th birthday featuring exciting moments from their trip to Tokyo.
While Lopez looks back on Max and Emme’s childhood with fondness, in a 2023 interview with Live with Kelly and Mark, she spoke about the adjustments she had to make during adolescence.
“Being a teenager is tough,” Lopez explained. “It’s hard. Once you have this baby for a while, it feels like your best friend who you love to be around all the time. And then all of a sudden you’re like, ‘Get out of my room.'”
“They’re challenging everything you say, everything you do, and everything you are, and that’s a fact,” she added. “You just have to ride the wave.”
