On Sunday, Duchess Kate and Prince William attended the 2026 British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall in London. This will be the first time the two have appeared together at a film and television awards ceremony since 2023.
Kate wore a bold off-the-shoulder gown with panels of flowing pink fabric in various shades. The look was cinched at the waist with a burgundy belt that matched William’s velvet tuxedo jacket. She also had a clutch in the same color.
The Princess of Wales wore her hair down in glamorous waves and accessorized with dangling diamond earrings.
William has been BAFTA chairman since 2010 and will present the BAFTA Fellowship Award to Dame Donna Langley, chairman of NBCUniversal Entertainment. In 2024, he attended alone as Kate was undergoing treatment for cancer.
In January 2025, Kate announced that her cancer was in remission in a statement to X magazine, writing, “I am relieved to be in remission and remain focused on my recovery. As anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer knows, it takes time to get used to a new normal. However, I am looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is so much to look forward to. Thank you for your continued support.”
A few months ago, Kate revealed in a separate statement that she had finished chemotherapy and also talked a little about her future plans for recovery.
“I look forward to getting back to work and taking on some more public engagements in the coming months if possible,” she wrote. “Despite everything that has happened, I enter this new phase of recovery with renewed hope and appreciation for life.”
