Hayley Griffith and Mia Challis have both joined CBS’ multi-cam comedy pilot Regency, Variety has learned.
The pair will join previously announced cast member Rhys Darby in the pilot, which was ordered in December. The official logline describes the film as “a historical twist on the classic multi-cam family comedy, centering on the Tilbrooks, an upper-middle-class family navigating life, love, and scandal in 19th-century England.”
Wilhelmina Tilbrook, played by Challis, is described as “the youngest daughter of the Tilbrook family. Wilhelmina is lovable but awkward. Stubborn, naive and easily misunderstood, Wilhelmina would rather climb a tree than attend a tea party.”
Griffiths will star as Maureen Tilbrook, who is described as the “eldest daughter of the Tilbrook family.” Maureen is known for being calm and orderly, but her hometown of Hartford Park harbors a scandalous secret. Fierce, worldly, and wise, Maureen will do anything to protect her only son, Dougie, from negative influences.
Charice is best known for her role as Lucy on the hit Netflix series Outer Banks. She has also appeared on shows such as “FBI: International” and “Clickbait,” and has credits in films such as “Diabolic” and “The Disinvited.”
She is repped by 42, Stewart Talent and Moore Creative Artists in Australia.
Griffiths previously appeared in films such as “They,” “Satanic Panic,” and “Kind Pregnant.” Her television credits include “The Loudest Voice,” “Bull,” “The Mysteries of Laura” and “Law & Order: SVU.”
She is repped by Gersh and Marilyn Zitner Management.
Tara Hernandez is the writer and executive producer of “Regency.” The studio is Warner Bros. Television.
“Regency” is currently one of only two pilots CBS is vying for next season. The other is “Eternally Yours,” a vampire comedy from “Ghost” co-showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. However, the broadcaster has already announced a series order for the 2026-2027 season. Already on the horizon are Robert and Michelle King’s courtroom drama “Cupertino,” and “Einstein,” starring “Criminal Minds” alumnus Matthew Gray Gubler. CBS has also already renewed 10 shows for next season, including “Elsbeth” and “Georgie and Mandy’s First Wedding.”
