Shia LaBeouf headbutted a man during a violent confrontation outside a New Orleans bar shortly before his arrest Tuesday.
According to footage obtained by TMZ, the “Transformers” star got into a scuffle with multiple people at the Mardi Gras festival after partying non-stop for several days.
In Tuesday’s video, the actor speaks to an older man before lunging forward and slamming his head into the other man’s face.
The person did not retaliate against LaBeouf, who shoved his arm inside his T-shirt during the interaction.
The outlet also obtained footage of the “Even Stevens” alum being shirtless and without shoes while being beaten by multiple men later in the evening.
He was then treated by paramedics, taken into custody and charged with two counts of simple battery.
As for what led to his arrest, LaBeouf allegedly punched a staff member at the R Bar in the French Quarter, then left the hotspot, only to return several hours later and continue his aggressive behavior.
Jeffrey Damnitt, another Mardi Gras attendee, claimed to TMZ that LaBeouf bit the bar manager and tried to slander him.
Damnit detailed LaBeouf’s alleged belligerent behavior, saying the former child star rolled into LaBeouf while ordering water and threatened to “fuck you, if you push me, I’ll kick your ass.”
The “Outlaw” star was released from prison by Tuesday afternoon, and upon his release, he immediately returned to the Mardi Gras parade route and started partying again.
On Wednesday morning, he addressed the debacle by posting a photo of himself wearing a beaded necklace and tweeting, “Please free me.”
LaBeouf has been open about his long struggle with addiction.
He said in an emotional interview in August 2022 that he had completely given up alcohol and had been sober for more than a year and a half.
In 2023, LaBeouf reflected on the treatment he underwent to get sober and how his then-wife Mia Goth supported him.
However, Page Six broke the news on Tuesday that he and the actress, 32, quietly parted ways nearly a year ago.
The two married in 2016 and welcomed their daughter Isabelle in 2022.
Another source also said that the filmmaker moved to New Orleans after the breakup to be closer to his family.
