A new video shows the moment Shia LaBeouf was beaten outside a New Orleans bar shortly before his arrest this week.
The “Hole’s” star, 39, is seen shirtless and rolling around on the ground wearing only one shoe while being pinned down by four men, according to footage obtained by TMZ on Tuesday.
But as LaBeouf struggled to stand up, a man stepped into the frame and punched LaBeouf twice in the face, warning him not to back down.
“I’m going to beat the hell out of you, kid,” the man yelled. “Chill!”
“Don’t do that,” another person yelled in LaBeouf’s face as he sat on the street. “You better not do that!”
The shocking footage ended shortly after the Transformers star tried to stand up again, only for two men to pin him down on his back and shoulders.
A representative for Mr. LaBeouf did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
New footage of LaBeouf being beaten on the streets of New Orleans was released shortly after Page Six confirmed that the Disney Channel alum was arrested in Louisiana City on Tuesday and charged with two counts of simple assault.
TMZ obtained footage of the actor being treated by paramedics after the altercation, but the cause of the horrifying incident is still unclear.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that the actor, who has long been vocal about his battle with addiction and his journey to sobriety, has been in New Orleans since Thursday for Mardi Gras celebrations.
Meanwhile, a doorman at Ms. Maze dive bar told the show on Monday that the “Disturbia” star was “a little belligerent” when he approached the 24/7 establishment without a shirt or cash.
Doorman Robert Skuse claimed that LaBeouf asked, “Do you know who I am?” A farce when he was refused entry to Mr. May’s house.
Employee Kyle Catalo said LaBeouf, who allegedly ended up wearing the shirt and paying with a credit card, was trying to “become a famous bartender” when he was asked to resign.
Meanwhile, a bartender at another establishment told THR that the “Indiana Jones” star is “terrorizing” New Orleans.
Other Big Easy hotspots where LaBeouf was reportedly spotted on Fat Monday include Dos Jefes, 45 Tchoup, Brothers III Lounge, and R Bar.
LaBeouf was being held without bail and was scheduled to appear before a judge at 3pm local time on Tuesday.
In an email published by Variety in August 2022, nearly four years before his latest arrest, LaBeouf announced that he had been sober for more than a year and a half after a “huge humiliation.”
Shortly after FKA Twigs, whom she dated from 2018 to 2019, filed a bombshell lawsuit in December 2022, accusing her of sexual assault, battery and infliction of emotional distress, the “Even Stevens” alum also touched on her own battle with alcoholism.
After his ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit was filed, he told the New York Times, “I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations.”
“I am committed to doing what I have to do to recover, and I am forever sorry to those I may have hurt in the process,” LaBeouf added at the time.
