Carmen Electra shares what she believes is the key to making a romance last.
During an interview with FOX News Digital at the 7th Annual Jam for Johnny Grammy Awards Party hosted by Steven Tyler, the 53-year-old actress reflected on how she stays sparkling in her relationships.
“You certainly want to keep the sparkle, but you also want to be with the person you love, because that’s definitely what keeps the shine going, right?” the “Baywatch” alum said.
“I mean, I like people who love the spirit of the person, love the person as a person, and aren’t a downer. I like artists. I like people who are interested in art. Whatever that art is, it’s all good.”
The “Scary Movie” star has been involved in a series of high-profile relationships in the past. In the early 1990s, Electra was romantically involved with Prince, who also helped launch her music career.
Prince discovered Elektra (real name Tara Leigh Patrick) in 1991 and signed her to his Paisley Park label.
The late music icon gave her the stage name Carmen Electra and oversaw the release of her self-titled debut album in 1993. The two dated briefly before breaking up but remained on good terms.
Electra then made headlines for her whirlwind relationship and brief marriage to NBA star Dennis Rodman in the late 1990s.
They married in Las Vegas in 1998, but nine days after their wedding, he filed for an annulment. Electra and Rodman briefly reconciled, but their divorce was finalized in April 1999.
In the early 2000s, Elektra had her longest and most serious relationship with Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro. The two married in 2003 and documented their relationship on the MTV reality show “Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen + Dave.” However, they separated in July 2006, and their divorce was finalized in February 2007.
After her marriage ended, Electra began dating musician Rob Patterson, and they announced their engagement in April 2008. The two remained engaged for several years, but did not marry and broke up in October 2012.
Over the years, Electra has been romantically linked to other celebrities, including Tommy Lee, Fred Durst, Colin Farrell, David Spade, Ryan Lochte, and Simon Cowell.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Electra revealed that she is single, but expressed interest in dating in 2026. In a conversation with the magazine, Electra shared her dating arrangements and spoke about what she looks for in a potential partner.
“I don’t like liars,” Electra said. “When you’re with someone who’s really into you, it feels really good. I’ve had that experience before, and obviously it didn’t last long. But once you know what it feels like to be with someone who really loves you, you can’t take that feeling back. You know, it’s just beautiful.
“[I want]someone who is very romantic,” the former “Single’d Out” host added. “I remember when I was dating Dave (Navarro), I wasn’t very romantic. He taught me how to be romantic, and now I am.”
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Electra shared her secret to staying confident in your 50s.
“My confidence comes from striving to be the best person I can be,” she said. “I’m a Taurus so I’m very stubborn, but I love life, I love food, I love people, I love love, I’m very passionate. And I always will be. So that’s never going to stop.”
Last month, Electra, who played lifeguard Lani McKenzie on the hit series Baywatch from 1997 to 1998, returned to her iconic red swimsuit and posted a slideshow of photos on Instagram. The actress wore a one-piece dress and posed while standing at a lifeguard stand holding a red rescue can.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, Electra explained what inspired her to wear the famous swimsuit again.
“I just wanted to wear this suit again for a photo shoot,” she said. “I think 2026 is going to be a great year, hopefully. And I thought it would be fun. So I thought, ‘Let’s do it. Let’s wear a suit and take a picture.'”
Electra, who reprized her role as Lani in the 2003 TV movie Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding, also discussed whether she would appear in the upcoming Baywatch reboot series, which was announced last September.
“I haven’t heard anything yet, but I’m definitely open to discussion,” she said.
Electra also teased an upcoming OnlyFans collaboration with another ’90s icon, Denise Richards. Richards joined OnlyFans in June 2022, shortly after her daughter Sami Sheen launched her own account on the platform. Electra had debuted her account on the subscription-based platform a month ago.
At the time, Electra told People magazine that joining OnlyFans was “a no-brainer.”
“I was like, ‘Yes, I have to do this,'” she said. “For the first time, I had the opportunity to be my own boss and share my own creative vision with my fans without someone standing over me and saying, ‘Don’t do this, don’t do that, cover this up.’
Last week, Electra reposted a behind-the-scenes clip of her collaboration with Richards, but Richards said in the video that the two had never worked together before.
“We’re doing this big Valentine’s Day collaboration together and it’s really exciting,” Electra told FOX News Digital. “Honestly, Denise was a very sweet person and a lot of fun to be around.
“We’re wearing sexy lingerie, so be sure to head over to OnlyFans and check us out!”
