Taylor Swift released an extended version of her “Oparite” music video this morning, and now, with the help of her fiancé Travis Kelsey, a remix of the song will be released. The singer shared a screenshot of a DM conversation between Kelsea and DJ Chris Lake, who worked on the remix. “Confirmed, Travis is my internal contact,” she captioned the photo.
Lake contacted Kelsey in January, writing that he would “try” on a remix of “Oparite.” Kelce admitted that he’s a huge fan and couldn’t help himself (or the emoji) when he first heard the remix. “Hey, how did you get it all together so quickly?” he asked. He added that Swift also “loves it! Her team said they’ll be in touch as soon as possible.”
Lake wrote in his own post with the full conversation, “When @killatrav and @taylorswift told you about the official remix, you did it 🙂 My ‘Opalite’ @taylorswift official remix is now available for pre-order on CD. This is a rare glimpse into the role Kelce has played in Swift’s music career, beyond being her muse and support system.
In October, she spoke further about how supportive they are about each other’s careers in an interview with BBC Radio 2. The singer denied rumors that she would quit her music career after marrying Kelce.
“I love the person I’m with because he loves my work and loves how fulfilled I am by making art and making music,” she said. “That’s the coolest thing about Trav. He’s so passionate about what he does, so I’m passionate about what I do, too, and that’s what brings us together. It’s not at the point where he’s like, ‘I’m really mad that you’re still making music, that I’m signed to, that I knew you liked, that you were going to stop doing it, and that you’re still making music.'”
The support goes both ways, she added, revealing that their careers actually have a lot in common. “Being able to support each other and the polarity of how different our jobs are is the most fun thing in the world,” she said. “But there are also a lot of similarities. We both do three-and-a-half hour performances at NFL stadiums for a living, as a job, as a passion. We both do three-and-a-half hour shows at NFL stadiums to entertain people. When you’re in the stadium, it’s the locker room. But when he’s in the exact same stadium, it’s the locker room. For him, it’s the locker room. For him, it’s the game, but for me it’s the show. We both have teams and we both compete in a fun way. I just love it. ”
