“When Harry Met Sally” stars Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan will reunite at the Oscars ceremony to pay tribute to director Rob Reiner, sources said.
The two appeared together at last year’s 97th Academy Awards ceremony, where they presented the Best Picture award to “Anora.”
Of course, Crystal has hosted the Oscars nine times before, and last year’s host Conan O’Brien called him the best Oscar host of all time, and she’ll be hosting the ceremony again on March 15th.
“I used to work here so it’s great to be back,” Crystal said when she appeared on stage with Ryan during last year’s broadcast.
“When was your first time?” Ryan asked.
“Nine tuxedos ago,” Crystal retorted, adding that that was 35 years ago. “Let’s get down to business,” Ryan suggested, with the Best Picture winner still to be announced.
Details of Reiner’s memorial are being kept secret for now, The Post’s Sarah Nathan and Page Six Hollywood report.
Reiner only received one Oscar nomination for producing “A Few Good Men.” His directorial credits also include such classics as “Spinal Tap,” “Stand by Me,” and “The Princess Bride.”
Reiner’s troubled son Nick Reiner is accused of stabbing the film legend, 78, and his wife Michelle, 70, to death in a case that shocked Hollywood and the world.
The famous couple is said to have attended Ms O’Brien’s holiday party hours before the murder.
There has been speculation about how the Oscars will handle tributes and whether they will simply include Reiner in their annual tribute section.
Like Crystal and Ryan, I didn’t hear back from anyone in charge of the award.
At the Golden Globes, show host Nikki Glazer gave an emotional nod to Reiner, who was wearing a “Spinal Tap” hat.
