The Masked Singer Season 14 Episode 6 Recap: Owl Revealed

Spoiler Alert: Details for “The Masked Singer” Season 14 Episode 6, “Twilight Night,” which aired on February 11th on FOX, are below.

This week’s “The Masked Singer” revelations may have left Billy Ray Cyrus hurt and with a broken heart. The country singer, who hit No. 1 with Lil Nas X for “Old Town Road,” became the latest celebrity to be unmasked on season 14 of the Fox singing reality competition.

None of the panelists answered correctly. Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg named him Ted Danson. Ken Jeong oddly thought it was Danson, Rita Ora guessed Kurt Russell, and Robin Thicke chose Dennis Quaid.

During her first appearance, Cyrus referenced her rise to fame in 1992. “When I got on a plane, I couldn’t go anywhere without hearing my name. People started following my looks. Just imagine. But there were also comments. My biggest fear was people laughing at me, not with me. Scary, right? But I didn’t listen. Instead, I focused on my family.In the end, life gave me the opportunity to do something very big, all those assholes were eating their money.”So if people are making fun of you behind your back, give them the bird and do your thing.” ”

In another clue package on the show, Cyrus, who played Owl, hinted at her early career goals and transition to singing, saying, “I love America’s favorite pastime more than anyone. But I’m not a professional. Once upon a time, I was a skinny, right-handed slugger. One day, my heart told me something. That’s not my path. So I handed in the glove. I knew there were other areas I could play in. And guess what? That’s the lesson I try to teach my kids: You can always hit a grand slam.”

Christina Perri opened the show by singing her song “A Thousand Year” from the “Twilight” series. The episode had scenes from the movie series recreated while celebrating Valentine’s Day.

In this week’s episode, the bottom two were Owl and Stingray. They fought by playing their own version of Pat Benatar’s “Love Is a Battlefield.” Stingray was saved and Owl was forced to reveal Cyrus’ true identity.

With Owl gone, High Voltage, Pangolin, Nasu, Galaxy Girl, Stingray, Cat Witch, Pugcasso, Snow Cone, and Crane remain in the competition.

Billy Ray Cyrus (Owl) has appeared on Season 14 of “The Masked Singer” so far.

Season 14 will see the return of host Nick Cannon and panelists McCarthy Wahlberg, Chung, Ora, and Thicke.

New this season is “America’s Insider,” where singer, dancer and social media personality Kylie Cantrall shares behind-the-scenes hints and tips with viewers. Twist: Cantrall wears a cat witch costume, but only removes her mask for the viewer. So viewers know who she is, but the panelists don’t.

“The Masked Singer” Season 14-themed episodes include homages to “Star Trek,” the ’90s comedy “Clueless,” the comic book series “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and the blockbuster movie “The Twilight Saga.” Fox’s new “Fear Factor” reboot will also feature “Fear Factor: House of Fear Night” host Johnny Knoxville, and “Ozzfest Night” will honor the late rocker Ozzy Osbourne, including a special tribute by “The Masked Singer” alum Kelly Osbourne (Season 2’s Ladybug) paying tribute to her father’s musical influence.

Season 14’s 18 masked contestants include Eggplant, Pukasso, Queen Corgi, Croissant, Owl, 14 Karat Carrot, Snow Cone, Galaxy Girl, High Voltage, Gyoggly Eyes, Scarab, Handyman, Crane, Le Fou, Pangolin, Stingray, Cat Witch, and Calla Lily.

According to the show, the season 14 contestants have sold a total of 94 million records, earned 47 Teen Choice Award nominations, 12 Emmy nominations, two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one Tony Award win, and one Academy Award nomination.
