Variety exclusively reported that Novi Brown has signed a contract with Innovative Artists Entertainment for full representation rights. She continues to be represented by Alta Global Media and Crawford Talents in Germany.
Brown is best known for her starring role on famed prolific creator Tyler Perry’s popular BET series “Sistas.” Brown played the role of Sabrina Hollins for the show’s first nine seasons, leaving the show ahead of the show’s 10th season, which aired in January 2026. The show has proven to be a strong part of BET’s scripted lineup and has already inspired two spinoffs, “Zatima” and “Divorced Sistas.”
Brown also starred in and served as a consulting producer in the holiday film Wesley’s South African Christmas, directed by Patricia Cuffey-Jones, opposite Jasmine Guy, Dorian Wilson, TC Carson, and Tereil Hill. She has appeared in numerous other leading roles, including films such as “Alone in the Dark,” “The First Noel,” and “Holiday Hideaway.” Besides “Sistas,” she previously starred in the CBS hit “NCIS.”
In theater, Brown appeared in stage productions of “Vaginal Monologue,” “The Dutchman,” and “Boston Marriage.” She was also an investor in the recent Broadway production of “Othello,” starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal. The production sold out every performance and quickly became one of the most talked about shows on all of Broadway.
As a producer, Brown executive produced the short film Drugs Are Fun, which recently secured entry into the Pan African Film Festival. There are plans to turn this film into a series.
