The FBI says Nancy Guthrie’s alleged kidnappers have not contacted her daughter Savannah or the rest of her family since the $6 million ransom deadline passed.
The ransom note sent to TMZ and local Arizona television stations KOLD and KGUN said there was no proof that Nancy, 84, was alive and demanded that $6 million be transferred to her Bitcoin account by 5pm MT (7pm ET) Monday.
It appears Savannah, 54, and her loved ones did not pay the ransom by the latest deadline.
“(The FBI) is not aware of any ongoing communication between the Guthrie family and the suspected kidnappers and has not identified any suspects or persons of interest in this case at this time,” an FBI spokesperson said in a statement to the Post after Monday’s deadline.
“We are now operating a 24-hour command post that includes crisis management experts, analytical support and investigation teams. But we still need the public’s cooperation,” the statement added.
“Someone has information that could help bring Nancy home,” the spokesperson concluded.
TMZ founder Harvey Levin told CNN on Monday that Guthrie’s alleged captors threatened him with a ransom note.
“Let me read one line from the ransom note we received,” said Levin, 75. “And they say, ‘It’s in everyone’s best interest to get this done as quickly as possible.'”
Nancy was last seen on January 31, when she was dropped off at her home in Tucson, Arizona, after a family dinner with her daughter Annie and son-in-law Tommaso Cioni.
She did not show up to church and was reported missing the next day.
A trail of blood was seen outside his Arizona home.
After police began searching for Nancy, her alleged kidnappers sent a ransom demand with an original deadline of Thursday, February 5th at 5pm (Montana).
Two days later, Savannah and her siblings, older brother Camron and younger sister Annie, made a video offering to pay the ransom.
“Your message was received and understood,” Savannah said in an Instagram upload. “Please give our mother back to us so we can celebrate together.”
“This is the only way we can achieve peace,” the “Today” anchor continued. “This is something of great value to us and we will pay for it.”
Ahead of Monday’s latest ransom deadline, Savannah appeared alone in another video on Instagram, desperately appealing to the public to help find Nancy.
“We believe the mother is still out there and we need your help. Law enforcement is working around the clock to bring her home and are trying to find her,” she said.
“She was taken away and we don’t know where she is. She needs help,” the mother of two added.
Savannah hasn’t appeared on “Today” since her mother went missing.
