Motion Picture Exchange (MPX) will begin global sales of the slasher film “Big Baby,” directed by Spider-One and executive produced by Cher, at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin.
Spider-One, who is not only a director but also the founder and frontman of the rock band Powerman 5000 and the younger brother of Rob Zombie, recently directed the 2024 horror film Little Bites, which was released exclusively on AMC Networks’ Shudder streaming service. Cher also served as an executive producer on Little Bites.
Big Baby is about horror writer Adam Lewis, whose latest script is inspired by the recurring nightmares of a deranged killer wearing a baby mask. “When those visions begin to seep into real life, Adam must confront his own unraveling mind and stop the nightmares he may bring into reality,” the film’s synopsis states.
The film stars Brandon Scott (Dead to Me, Channel Zero) and Krusi Fox (Terrifier 3), with Cameron Cowperthwaite (Fallout), Katherine Corcoran, Tori Van Grohl, Adam Marcinowski, Sierra McCormick, and Chaz Bono (American Horror Story) also co-starring.
“Big Baby” is written and directed by Spider One and produced by Spider One and Chrissy Fox’s OneFox Productions, with Cher serving as executive producer.
“We are excited to partner with MPX,” Spider One said in a statement. “They immediately connected with the insane, psychological, meta, slasher madness of ‘Big Baby’!” the director continued, noting that MPX executives “recognized how this film brutally carved out its own unique space in the genre.”
Ryan Berry, co-founder and president of MPX, commented, “What appealed to us about ‘Big Baby’ was not just the premise, but how far Spider-One pushes it.”
He added: “This film is bold, personal, unapologetically twisted, and clearly has a voice of its own. This is the kind of psychological slasher that will be talked about for years among horror fans, and we look forward to offering it to EFM buyers and introducing them to the new killer in town.”
