Authorities are searching for a vehicle they believe may have been involved in Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping.
NBC News reported that a Circle K spokesperson claimed Friday that law enforcement contacted one of its stores on Oracle Road in Tucson after “receiving information about a vehicle of interest and provided our team with access to store surveillance video.”
When asked for comment, the FBI told Page Six in a statement: “The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department are aware of new messages regarding Nancy Guthrie. Investigators are actively reviewing the authenticity of the information provided in the messages.”
The statement continued: “While this is new information, the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Office continue to encourage anyone with information to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.”
The Bureau of Investigation reiterated that the group “continues to offer rewards of up to $50,000 for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and the arrest and conviction of those responsible for her disappearance.”
The vehicle in question that police are searching for is unknown at this time. But days before Nancy disappeared, Guthrie’s neighbor Brett McIntyre alerted police to a suspicious white van parked near the 84-year-old’s home.
“It was somewhere on that street. It was a white van, full size, nothing printed on the side. It was parked on the street,” McIntyre, who lives across the street from Nancy, told the Post on Thursday.
“Usually people who come to your house to work have a company car, or if they’re independent, they have something written on their car,” the neighbor continued. However, the 72-year-old could not remember the exact day he first saw the vehicle.
This update comes shortly after it was reported that authorities are considering the possibility of another ransom note related to Guthrie’s case.
The message was shared with KOLD 13 News, a local media outlet in Arizona. However, the outlet did not share further details about the contents of the memo.
Nancy, the 84-year-old mother of NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing after missing a church service on Sunday.
The Guthrie matriarch was last seen around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, when Nancy was dropped off at home by her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, after having dinner with her family.
On Monday, authorities announced that Nancy’s home was being treated as a crime scene. Earlier this week, police responded to reports of a “possible ransom note” after multiple media outlets reported receiving the letters.
At the time, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office said it was “following every lead” it received and “sharing all leads with the FBI.”
Police have not yet identified any suspects, but investigators believe Nancy was abducted while she was sleeping, Sheriff Chris Nanos said Thursday, explaining that authorities are “actively investigating everyone” as suspects in the case.
