The new mountaineering thriller “Reach” starring Ryan Phillippe has finished production in Thailand and the first look shot has been released ahead of the European film market.
The film, written by writer and director Mukunda Michael Dewill (Vehicle 19, Prey, Immaculate), is produced by Chaos Entertainment and financed by Christian Mercuri’s company Capstone.
Distributor Capture, a joint venture between Capstone Global and Signature Entertainment founded in 2025, distributed the film worldwide. Sales territories include Eastern Europe excluding Poland (Prorom), Spain (Selecta Vision), Benelux (SPI), Poland (Dimeo Films), CIS and Baltics (MGN), Latin America (CDC), Turkey (ATV), India (Star Entertainment), Malaysia (MVP), South Korea (Noori), Philippines (Pioneer), Indonesia (PT Prima), Airlines (Cinesky), and Mongolia (Film Bridge).
Capture plans to release early footage to buyers at this year’s EFM in Berlin.
In “Reach,” best friends and fearless mountaineers Zach and Chris find themselves dangling precariously from the edge of a mountain, connected only by a rope. Zack is forced to make a life-or-death decision. Should I cut the rope to save myself, or should we both fall to our deaths?
Phillippe is repped by David Schiff and Terri Coffey of MGMT Entertainment.
Capture recently signed a deal with Well Go USA for the North American rights to Rise of the Conqueror, a historical action epic based on the true story of 14th century conqueror Amir Timur, along with a number of other international territorial sales. At AFM in November, the company announced Override, an AI-focused sci-fi survival thriller starring Frank Grillo and Maria Bakalova, directed and co-written by Jordan Downey.
