The cause of YouTuber Adam the Woo’s death has been revealed by his family.
Adam the Woo, real name David Adam Williams, passed away suddenly at the age of 51 on December 22nd at his home in Celebration, Florida.
In a Facebook post shared on Monday, January 26, Adam’s father, Jim, confirmed that following the autopsy report, Adam’s cause of death was atherosclerotic hypertensive cardiovascular disease, which led to a “heart attack during his sleep.”
“Simply put… natural causes,” Jim explained of Adam’s death. “…our beloved son…your beloved friend…essentially died of a heart attack in his sleep from health issues that he probably didn’t know he had.”

Despite the pain of losing Adam, Jim spoke of how “grateful” he was to have lost a son in a situation like his.
“Now we can all stop guessing. Let’s be thankful that the Lord allowed him to die at home and not in a foreign country. Let’s be thankful that he was found by friends (as hard as it was) and not by some nameless stranger,” Jim told fans, adding, “…thank you for loving Adam.”
Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and hypertensive heart disease are closely related, in which plaque buildup (atherosclerosis) narrows arteries and causes high blood pressure. According to the Mayo Clinic, these conditions often occur together and increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, and organ damage.
Adam was found dead in his Florida home on December 22, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) previously confirmed. TMZ was first to report the news.

“The residence was secured and there was no contact with the adult male resident,” an OCSO spokesperson tells PEOPLE. “Police then returned to the scene of the unattended death at 2:53 p.m. A friend borrowed a ladder and looked into a third floor window and saw the man motionless in bed. Upon entering the residence with Fire and Rescue, the man was reported deceased.”
