Meghan Markle’s much-hyped lifestyle show “With Love, Duchess of Sussex” will not be returning to Netflix, multiple sources have told Page Six, after the Duchess called the show “a tough job.”
“It’s not coming back as a series. There’s talk about a holiday special, but nothing has happened yet,” one source said.
Sources say Markle, 44, will instead focus on building her lifestyle brand, As Ever. “You’ll see similar dishes and crafts on brand Meghan’s social media, but more bite-sized,” said one person.
According to Forbes magazine, when Season 2 of “With Love, Meghan” was released last August, it wasn’t even on the streamer’s list of the top 10 shows in the U.S. that week.
However, the 2025 holiday special reportedly ranked in the top 10 worldwide, and the source added that Netflix considers the series a “huge success.” Ratings for season 2 and specials are expected to be released in February.
Markle is currently pitching several holiday specials, including July 4th and Valentine’s Day, and sources say she hopes to make them happen.
The Duchess of Sussex debuted “With Love, Meghan Markle” last March to compete against lifestyle gurus Martha Stewart, Ina Garten and Gwyneth Paltrow.
But her series of amateurish hospitality tips, from putting store-bought pretzels in labeled gift bags to making floral-patterned ice cubes to soaking towels in lavender oil to arranging rainbow fruit plates for children’s parties, quickly made her the subject of ridicule.
According to Netflix’s official engagement report, the show ranked 383rd with 5.3 million global views in the first half of 2025.
However, Netflix continues to partner with Markle on As Ever, a lifestyle brand tied to the series, which continues to sell honey, tea and wine.
Markle and her husband Prince Harry, 41, also have a “first look” deal with the streamer after their multi-million dollar exclusive deal ended last year.
Markle was joined on the series by top chefs including Jose Andrés, Roy Choi and Alice Waters, as well as close friends including former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer and makeup artist Daniel Martin. Chrissy Teigen and Tan France also made cameos, as did Markle’s mother Doria Ragland and Harry.
Following season 1, Markle claimed that people “love” the show and that those criticizing it online were just “trying to pay their bills.”
The Duchess of Sussex spoke on Circuit with Emily Chan, noting the show’s mixed reviews, saying: “I think she knew who she was going to meet.”
We have reached out to representatives for Netflix and Sussex for comment.
Speaking at Fortune magazine’s Most Powerful Women Summit in October, Markle said of filming the show: “This is a year of learning… Two seasons, eight episodes, it’s a lot of work.”
In a memorable moment for the show, which was filmed in a rented farmhouse in Montecito, California, near Markle and Harry’s home, she corrected actress Mindy Kaling when she referred to her by her last name “Markle,” saying: “It’s also very funny that you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know I’m Sussex now.”
The name was given to the couple by the late Queen Elizabeth II after they married in 2018 and before stepping down as working members of the royal family.
“When you have kids, you say, ‘No, I share my name with my kids,’ and it feels that way — I had no idea how much that meant to me — but it really feels so,” Markle said. “This is the name of our family, the name of our little family.”
