“Bring Up Bates” alum Katie Bates’ husband Travis Clark has admitted to being “unfaithful” the day after the couple suffered a miscarriage.
“This is hard to write, but I have an obligation to tell the truth and an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and I betrayed her trust over and over again,” Clark wrote on his Instagram Story on Saturday.
“There is no excuse for what I did. This was my mistake and I alone am responsible. I know words cannot describe the damage I caused and the depth of the hurt I caused in her life, but I am truly sorry,” he continued.
Clark later apologized for the “pain, humiliation and betrayal I have caused my wife through my choices.”
“I understand that an apology will not repair what I have broken. Forgiveness is something I neither deserve nor can ask for,” the nursing student said.
“No matter the outcome, I am trying to get help and take responsibility for changing to become a more honest and responsible person,” he added.
“We ask for privacy and grace so that Katie can process this matter in her own time,” Clark concluded, using her first name.
Clark’s affair came a day after Bates revealed she had suffered a miscarriage.
On Friday, the reality star shared heartbreaking footage on Instagram showing her in shock after receiving a positive pregnancy test.
Later, Bates placed the baby’s costume on the bed next to a teddy bear and balloons and broke the news to Clark.
Later in the video, Mr Bates could be seen crying as he lay in a hospital bed.
“I just lost my baby,” she said emotionally, as someone held her hand.
Bates captioned the post: “I’ll be spending the rest of my life without you🪽.”
Bates and Clark married in December 2021.
The couple welcomed their first daughter, Hayley James, in February 2023, and their second son, Harvey Gray, in September 2024.
