Evan Peters says he doesn’t know what to expect from the upcoming season 13 of American Horror Story.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the New York premiere of his new series The Beauty on January 14, the 38-year-old actor admitted he’s both “excited” and “nervous” about what’s in store for the Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk-created series when it returns to TV screens later this year.

Back in October, which naturally coincided with Halloween, the Ryan Murphy Productions Instagram account announced that Peters would be returning to the show for the latest season, along with other AHS mainstays Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, and Leslie Grossman.
The star-studded list concluded with the most shocking return of the bunch. Jessica Lange previously said that the FX anthology series is over.

AHS, which premiered in 2011, is an anthology series that tells different stories in each season, although some stories are connected through multiple-appearance characters and intertwining plots. (Past AHS seasons have centered around haunted houses, freak shows, insane asylums, apocalypses, and witches’ covens, to name a few.)
In Peters and Murphy’s latest collaboration, The Beauty, she plays an FBI agent investigating a sexually transmitted disease treatment known as “The Beauty” that makes users physically attractive, but at a deadly cost.
Other actors in the series include Ashton Kutcher, Bella Hadid, Isabella Rossellini, Anthony Ramos, and Rebecca Hall.
American Horror Story returns this fall. “The Beauty” is set to debut on Disney+, FX and Hulu on January 21st.
