Although they’re not in the running for the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, Rivals stars Conor Storey and Hudson Williams have certainly been heard of.
Story, 25, appeared on the red carpet with her curly hair styled into a mullet, perhaps an unlikely inspiration.
According to GQ, who spoke with hairstylist Candice Barnes, Story looked to the late Kurt Cobain for inspiration.
Burns said the wheels started turning when she saw a photo of Cobain’s 1986 mug shot on her social media feed.
“I started looking for Patrick Swayze in ‘Point Break,’ and I pulled out old photos of the Beatles, like circa ’67, and I thought, ‘Okay, if these three have a baby, this could be your hair,'” Burns told the magazine.
Described as a “mod mullet,” she used curl cream, hair oil, and mouth pomade to “give her hair a little bit of grease and grease.”
As for her eyebrows, the stylist revealed that she uses Milk Makeup’s Kush Brow Lamination Gel ($24), a favorite of stars like Hailey Bieber, to shape her eyebrows.
Story, who was virtually unknown before this high-octane hockey drama shot to fame overnight, wore a Saint Laurent tuxedo and Tiffany & Co. diamond jewelry.
There are likely to be many more rock star red carpet moments for the actor.
