A cheeky choice.
Teyana Taylor delivered one of the most surprising moments of the night on the Golden Globe Awards 2026 red carpet on Sunday, appearing in a gravity-defying Schiaparelli haute couture halter neck dress from the front and telling an even bolder story from the back.
The One Battle After Another star, 35, sported a crystal-encrusted thong at the Beverly Hills awards ceremony, with a cutout at the bottom of her back highlighting a sparkling bow.
“The cracks are covered in diamonds. They’re expensive,” Taylor told E! on the red carpet.
She told reporters that her two children (Lou Rose, 5, and Iman “Junie” Tayla, 10) are her “biggest fashion critics,” but they approve of her boundary-pushing looks. She declared, “They were alive tonight.”
The bold dress also featured a dramatic neck scarf and draped bodice, giving attendees a peek at the intricate ink on her sternum and upper back.
She complemented her dazzling thong with late 1940s Tiffany & Co. archival diamond and palladium earrings and a similarly iced-out bracelet and ring.
The multi-hyphenate star is up for Best Supporting Actress after her breakout role as Paphidia Beverly Hills in Paul Thomas Anderson’s political thriller, competing with Ariana Grande, Emily Blunt, Elle Fanning, Inga Ebsdotter Lillias and Amy Madigan.
Her styling team, Wayman Bannerman and Mika McDonald, clearly didn’t play it safe for her first Golden Globe nomination.
This isn’t the first time Taylor has flashed her butt on a major red carpet. At the 2021 Met Gala, she wore a silver Prabal Gurung toga dress inspired by Venus de Milo that fell so low on her lower body that the colorful tattoos on her derriere were visible.
