Golden Globe Awards Celebrities Wear Renee Macklin Good’s Be Good Pin

Several celebrities who attended Sunday’s Golden Globes red carpet wore pins with the messages “Ice Out” and “Stay Well” in memory of Renee Macklin Goode, who was killed by ICE in Minneapolis this week.

Nominees, presenters and guests, including Mark Ruffalo, Jean Smart, Natasha Lyonne and Wanda Sykes, wore pins from an ACLU-endorsed protest campaign organized by a group of entertainment industry professionals. Other organizations supporting this effort include Maremoto, Move On, National Domestic Workers Alliance, and Working Families Power.

At the Golden Globe Awards pre-show, a variety show presented by Amazon Fire TV, celebrities appeared on the red carpet before the awards ceremony.

The campaign also honors Keith Porter, who was shot and killed by an off-duty ICE officer on New Year’s Eve. “In the face of such horror, we need to remind ourselves of what it means to be good to each other: to be good citizens, neighbors, friends, allies, and people. “Everyday, everywhere, ordinary people are good people, keeping kids safe at school, photographing fathers missing from work, and donating to fundraisers to support the organizations that keep us safe.” Statement from the organizers.

Organizers noted that 2025 was one of ICE’s deadliest years in two decades, and that the campaign was in response to the current administration’s $100 million wartime recruitment campaign aimed at expanding enforcement capacity.

“Over the past year, the Trump administration has expanded federal power to punish and intimidate communities, often by scapegoating immigrants and using the Department of Homeland Security as the tip of the spear. ICE is not making our communities safer. They are wreaking havoc on our cities, and families, immigrants, and American citizens alike are paying the price,” organizers said.
