America’s Sweetheart: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders star Kelsey Wetterberg is diving into her new role as a mom.
The former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader shared a sweet Instagram video of herself painting the words “BABY CRNK JULY 2026” on a white wall, announcing that she and husband Nate Cunkovich are expecting their first child together.
Wetterberg captioned the Jan. 8 post, “Baby Cunkovich is coming soon.” “Little one, you are already so loved and prayed for! 👣”
At the end of the clip, the pair shared a kiss and lounged on the floor, holding up a few photos of their ultrasound.
The couple’s big news comes just a week after they celebrated their first wedding anniversary. And Wetterberg celebrated the occasion with a heartfelt tribute to her husband.
“Happy one year anniversary to the love of my life 🤍 @natecrnk I’m so lucky to spend my life with you!” Wetterberg wrote on Dec. 31, alongside a throwback photo from their wedding. “This year has been full of love… Travel, buying our first home, and new experiences and challenges have brought us so much closer. You have made me so happy. I love you forever 🫶🏼”
At the time, Kurkoviš shared his wife’s merry-go-round on his Instagram Stories, commenting on the post: “Happy anniversary baby ❤️.”
Wetterberg married his girlfriend, an actor and fellow nurse, on December 30, 2024, in a “very intimate” ceremony surrounded by close family at a Catholic church. The next day, the couple said they were “married” again in a much grander ceremony at the Leo Ballroom in Omaha, Nebraska, where they grew up.
“This wedding is a dream come true,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “My wedding day has always been on my mind since I was young…but I don’t think I ever imagined it to be so beautiful. God couldn’t have given me a better husband!”

At the end of Netflix’s hit docuseries, we saw a glimpse of Wetterberg pursuing a career as a pediatric registered nurse and accepting Kunkovich’s offer after leaving DCC.
“Both of our families are big, so we knew from the beginning that it was going to be a big wedding, and of course we wanted everyone to be there!” she explained to PEOPLE. “My main vision was just to be there with everyone we love to celebrate a big step in our lives. People are our top priority and we wanted it to be a fun celebration of love!”
“Marriage, to me, is about devoting your life to someone, and two people putting each other’s needs above their own,” she added. “Promising your life to someone before God and remaining true to that promise is a very beautiful expression of the highest degree of service. It is a very beautiful thing to love and be loved unconditionally.”
