Guy Moon, a veteran Nickelodeon composer who worked on such network classics as “The Fairly OddParents” and “Danny Phantom,” died Thursday in a car accident. He was 63 years old.

Moon’s family announced his death in a Facebook post on Friday.

“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved patriarch Guy Moon. He passed away in a car accident Thursday morning,” the post read. “We feel so blessed to call him our father and husband. As we stand together at the root of what seems like an insurmountable sadness, we are determined to use the tools he gave us in his beautiful life to make a name for himself. We are encouraged to mourn him with honor and courage. He left an undeniable legacy and will be sorely missed by us, his family, and the countless others whose lives he touched.”

Besides “The Fairly OddParents” and “Danny Phantom,” Moon also worked on Nickelodeon’s “Chalk Zone,” “Tak & the Power of Juju,” “Back at the Barnyard,” “Big Time Rush,” and “TUFF Puppy.” His work on “The Fairly OddParents” earned him Emmy nominations in 2002, 2003 and 2004 for outstanding music and lyrics.

Butch Hartman, the mastermind behind “The Fairly Odd Parents” and “Danny Phantom,” paid tribute to Moon on his Instagram Story.

“There are still no words because there are not enough words,” he wrote. “I will be releasing a statement soon. Guy is my friend, my brother, and my family. My heart is broken.

Moon’s other notable credits include the cartoons “The Addams Family,” shows such as “Johnny Test,” “Cow and Chicken,” and films such as “The Brady Bunch Movie” and its 1996 sequel.

A ceremony commemorating Moon’s life is scheduled to be held in Los Angeles on February 7, and another ceremony will be held at a later date in Moon’s home state of Wisconsin.
