Gwyneth Paltrow’s “poor son” Moses was said to have been humiliated by having to watch a sex scene with Timothée Chalamet in Marty Supreme.
“Oh my God, my poor son,” Paltrow, 53, told Demi Moore on Friday, when she hosted a Q&A after the film’s screening at the San Vicente Bungalows in Santa Monica, Calif., People reported.
“Can you imagine when he came to the Los Angeles premiere? He wanted to die,” she added of her 19-year-old son.
Paltrow attended the Los Angeles premiere of the film, which she shares with ex Chris Martin, in December. The following week, she and Moses, along with their daughter Apple, 21, attended the premiere in New York City.
Directed by Josh Safdie, the film is set in 1950s New York and follows Marty Moser (played by Chalamet), a shoe salesman who becomes obsessed with a plot to become the world’s best table tennis player.
Paltrow plays a ping-pong WAG, and in an interview with Vanity Fair last March, she previously described her as “a woman who’s married to someone in the ping-pong mafia.”
She also teased that she and Chalamet, 30, “have a lot of sex in this movie…a lot, a lot.”
In her words, Paltrow and Chalamet’s characters meet in the film and develop a mutually beneficial romance.
“She’s had a pretty tough life, and I think he’s brought life into her, and it’s kind of a deal for both of them,” Paltrow said.
The “Avengers” star also couldn’t help but gush about Chalamet in the interview, even calling him a “thinking man’s sex symbol.”
“I would say he’s a very polite, well-bred kid…He’s a guy who takes his job really seriously and is a fun partner,” she said.
They also used an intimacy coordinator for these steamy scenes, but Paltrow explained that it was a new concept for her.
“There’s something called intimacy coordinators now, and I didn’t know they existed,” she said, adding that when the coordinator asked if it was okay for her to do certain movements, she replied, “Girl, I’m from the era of getting naked in bed and having the cameras on.”
In addition to Chalamet and Paltrow, the film also stars Odessa Azion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher.
“Marty Supreme” is currently in theaters.
