“Avatar: Fire and Ash” continued its box office dominance, topping the domestic charts for the fourth consecutive Friday.

The third installment of the “Avatar” series, which recently surpassed $1 billion in worldwide box office receipts, earned $5 million domestically on Friday. The sci-fi blockbuster is expected to collect another $20 million by Sunday.

In second place was Paramount’s creature feature “Primate,” which opened Friday in 2,964 theaters in North America with $4.5 million. Starring Johnny Sequoya, Jess Alexander, Troy Kottle, and Victoria Wyant, this horror film tells the story of a group of teens whose island vacation is turned upside down when the family’s pet chimpanzee, Ben, turns into a brutal killing machine. The film cost $21 million to make and is expected to gross $11 million by Sunday.

Also this weekend, Lionsgate’s survival thriller Greenland 2: Migration will be released. The film, starring Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin and Roman Griffin Davis, grossed $3.2 million in its opening day on Friday. The sequel takes place about six years after the original and follows a family searching for a new home in Greenland after a comet destroys much of the planet. The film is expected to reach $8.5 million by Sunday.

In addition to “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” two other holdovers made Friday’s top five: A24’s table tennis drama “Marty Supreme” and Lionsgate’s twisted domestic thriller “The Housemaid.” “Marty Supreme” grossed about $2.2 million domestically on Friday, down 52% from last week, but is expected to earn $7.9 million by Sunday. Domestic gross sales will exceed $70 million by the end of the week. “The Housemaid” collected $3.3 million on its fourth Friday. The film has added $10.6 million through Sunday, down 30% from this time last week, and is on track to take its domestic box office total to $93.5 million.
