Elle Fanning has a treasure trove of selfies she took while dressed as Effie Trinket on the set of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards on January 3, the 27-year-old actress teased an unseen photo from her personal camera roll.
Fanning praised the existing Hunger Games series (author Suzanne Collins’ five books, followed by four films and the first prequel film) and said she loves the fictional dystopian nation.

The “Sentimental Value” star added, “I love Panem. I mean, I’m a big fan of movies like the OG. You know what? I love movies. Movies are so comforting to me. It’s such a great airplane watch…keep watching them all.”
Fanning added: “That world is so amazing. The acting is so great. And I got a little taste of the good costumes…I have a lot of selfies on my phone.”
In “Sunrise of the Reaper,” the second prequel film following 2023’s “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” Fanning plays a 20-something version of the suave Effie Trinket, originally played by Elizabeth Banks, 51.

Banks, who played District 12’s beloved escort to Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) in the first four films of the series, spoke out about Fanning’s casting as Effie in May.
Banks said at the time: “I’m so excited. I emailed the producers and I think she’s perfect. I think everyone is really happy, and I’m really happy for that too. I’m looking forward to the next generation having Effie.”
“The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” will be released in theaters on November 20th.
