Kate Hudson is one proud mother!
The Almost Famous actress, 46, shared an Instagram carousel of many childhood photos on Wednesday, January 7, in honor of her eldest son Ryder’s birthday.
Hudson’s caption reads, “Today is 10pm 🎂 Funny, kind, beautiful inside and out, and for some reason you want to stay home after graduation. I’ll win. I’m so proud of the man you are @mr.ryderrobinson Being a mom is a gift 💫 Happy Birthday Ryder!!!! 🎉🥳.”
Images included images of Ryder, who Hudson welcomed with ex-husband Chris Robinson in 2004, lying on the floor, cuddling with the family pets and swimming with her brother Bingham, 14, whom her mother shares with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy.
Further images show Ryder enjoying cocktails and spending time with his sister Lani, whom Hudson welcomed with fiancé Danny Fujikawa in 2018.

Ryder herself added three love heart emojis in the comments section of her mother’s post, while several celebrities also sent birthday wishes. Legally Blonde star Reese Witherspoon, 49, wrote, “Happy birthday @mr. LydeRobinson!!😎,” while fashion stylist and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Rachel Zoe added, “Happy birthday to the sweetest, coolest, sweetest @mr. LydeRobinson. Wishing you the best year yet ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
Back in 2021, Hudson joked about the fact that each of his children has a different father when he appeared on Sunday Today with Willie Geist. “I have multiple fathers and kids all over the place,” she said. She also touched on the topic in an interview with The Sunday Times in November 2022.

“It may not seem traditional from the outside, but inside I feel like we’re killing it,” she said of co-parenting with three men. “(But) the unit that I created with three kids with three different fathers is a really strong unit, and it’s ours.”
As for Ryder herself, Hudson said she thinks she inherited the acting gene from her family, and during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2021, Hudson said Ryder is “very funny.”
“Ryder, I mean, obviously he’s probably going to follow in the footsteps of the family. And I think he’s probably the funniest person in our family. No one makes me laugh like Ryder, and he always teases me,” she said.

Meanwhile, in March 2024, Hudson released a song called “Live Forever,” which she explained was inspired by the “absolute joy” of Ryder’s birth.
“I was so young when Ryder was born that it’s amazing to look back on it. I was almost a kid too, so we were able to fall in love growing up at the same time,” she said of the musical tribute.
