Jennifer Aniston is known for her blonde hair.
In fact, her namesake haircut, “The Rachel,” defined the ’90s and sent women to hair salons in droves.
Aniston, who doesn’t take herself too seriously, filmed a comical Q&A on the brand’s Instagram prompted by the question, “Should I become a brunette?”
“I’m a brunette,” the actress joked.
“I’m a brunette,” she repeated, before BFF and former Friends co-star Courteney Cox entered the frame tossing her own hair over Aniston, adding, “See…this is what she looks like as a brunette.”
“It’s black,” Aniston added, suggesting her natural hair color would be a little softer than Cox’s dark brown shade.
Looking at herself in the mirror, the 56-year-old actress remembered the wig she wore in Horror Bosses.
“Oh, this is similar to the character I played in Horrible Bosses,” she said, to which Cox replied, walking away, “I love Horrible Bosses…you were a terrible dentist.”
In conclusion, Aniston repeated the question and answered, “Yes, well, I saw the answer…did it work?…Was I a natural brunette?” She then put her hands around her face and added: “This is fake.”
Aniston’s hair colorist Michael Canale spoke to Page Six Style about the origins of “The Rachel” in 2019. Working with hairstylist Chris McMillan, who created the cut, Canare brightened up her look.
“Jennifer had medium brown hair, just past her shoulders. I decided to change her from natural brown to caramel blonde with feathery highlights, a color that I thought she would love at the beach,” he said at the time.
“While most other celebrities are experimenting with long, short, and boldly different colors, Jennifer has become a style icon because she never goes out of style,” Canale added.
Hairstylist Justin Anderson revealed his anxiety while touching up Aniston’s blonde masterpiece in the comments of the post, writing: “Even though I went brunette for a cake, I’ve never been so nervous about coloring my hair in my life 😂.”
Another fan wrote: “Jen Hair has her own fan club and yes I’m a member too!” Meanwhile, another commented: “Jen’s hair deserves its own spin-off show!”
We definitely tune in.
