Museum rules apply to everyone, including Bad Bunny.
Earlier this month, multiple media outlets reported that the Puerto Rican rapper visited the National Institute of Anthropology and History in Mexico City and shared several photos to his Instagram Story, including one of him touching historical artifacts.
On Saturday, Dec. 27, the museum issued a statement on social media confirming that Bad Bunny touched the artifact and explaining what happened.
According to the National Institute of Anthropology and History, staff members were present throughout Bad Bunny’s visit to the museum. A staff member who witnessed him placing his hands on the artifacts explained that touching works inside the museum is prohibited.
A statement from the museum said the Devi Tilal Mas Fotos rapper removed his hands from the artifacts when he was informed of the rules.
“As everyone knows, physical contact with archaeological objects is prohibited,” a statement on social media said.
The incident comes ahead of what is sure to be a big year for Bad Bunny, who is set to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on February 8th at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
“What I feel is beyond myself,” he said in a statement announcing the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show. “This is for the guys who came before me and ran for countless yards so I could go out there and score a touchdown…This is for my people, my culture, and our history. Let’s enjoy Ceremony at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.”

He also plans to continue his Debí Tirar Más Fotos world tour, with shows scheduled around the world from January to July.
In addition, Bad Bunny has been nominated for six awards at the upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards: Album of the Year for Devi Tilal Mas Fotos, Best Musical Urban Album, Best Album Cover, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “DtMF”, and Best Global Musical Performance for “EoO”.
The 2026 Grammy Awards will be held on February 1st at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
