Prime Video’s celebrity talk show Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle, hosted by Bollywood star Kajol and writer-producer Twinkle Khanna, has emerged as the platform’s most successful unscripted series in India, reaching viewers in over 93% of India’s postal codes.
Produced by Banijay Asia, the first season of the series featured a host of leading personalities from Bollywood including Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, Varun Dhawan and Karan Johar, and concluded with an episode featuring Cricket World Cup champions Jemima Rodriguez and Shafali Verma.
“The overwhelming response to Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle is a testament to the fresh new perspective it brings to talk shows, making it Prime Video’s most-watched unscripted series to date,” said Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video India. “What sets this show apart is the incredible combination of hosts who are unashamedly candid, unapologetic and unfiltered.”
Mrinalini Jain, group chief development officer, Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, said the show “became a phenomenon because it offered what today’s viewers crave: unfiltered, witty conversations.”
“At its heart, ‘Too Much With Kajol and Twinkle’ is about friends coming together in a safe space like their own homes, where they can be their natural selves, speak their minds and reminisce about stories that only live in their memories,” Khanna said.
Kajol further added, “Sitting on the other side of the couch on ‘Too Much’ was an amazing and refreshing feeling, especially with Twinkle as my co-host. Twinkle is truly one of the funniest and sharpest women I know.”
