NBCUniversal is enhancing this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade with new features. It’s your chance to watch the annual program on Peacock’s three-angle multi-option, including a live stream installed on the main float itself.
Broadcasts of the 99th annual parade will begin Nov. 27 at 8:30 a.m. in all time zones on NBC and streamer Peacock, with “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo performing the opening number and “Today” show staples Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker returning to host the event, which drew a record 31.7 million viewers last year.
Peacock subscribers can watch the 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade event from three different camera angles with Mulitview.
Traditional programming (key views): The parade fans know and love includes commentary from NBC hosts, live performances, and more.
Float View: Feel like you’re in a parade as you ride through the streets of Manhattan on a classic Tom the Turkey float.
View from a skyscraper: Get a bird’s-eye view of all the excitement from above the parade route.
This is the first time Peacock will offer multi-viewing for a live entertainment special. Previously, the feature launched as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic streaming experience, which more than a quarter of Peacock’s Olympics viewers watched in multi-view, followed by Premier League games and NBC News’ 2024 Election Night coverage. This option will also be available for the upcoming 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.
In addition to Erivo, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performers include EJAE, Audrey Nuna, REI Includes the voices of AMI, HUNNTR/X from Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, the cast of Broadway’s Buena Vista Social Club, Just in Time and Ragtime, and the Radio City Rockettes, as well as Drew Baldrige, Matteo Bocelli and Cobie Caillat. Ciara, Gavin DeGraw, Meg Donnelly, Mr. Fantasy, Foreigner, Debbie Gibson, Mickey Guyton, Christopher Jackson, Jewel, Lil Jon, Kool & the Gang, Darren Love, Roman Mejia, Taylor Momsen, Tiler Peck, Busta Rhymes, Callum Scott, Shaggy, Lauren Spencer Smith, Luisa Sonza, Teyana Taylor.
“The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is the perfect moment for multi-viewing, allowing fans to capture never-before-seen perspectives along the parade route, along with iconic floats and live performances,” said Matt Strauss, chairman of NBCUniversal Media Group. “Finding ways to enhance the way viewers enjoy their favorite shows and offer unique viewing experiences and features is central to continuing to raise the bar for live streaming on Peacock.”
“As we begin this holiday season, we take for granted the trust we have with our viewers and business partners, and we’re thrilled that they continue to make NBC a part of their tradition,” said Jen Neal, executive vice president of live events and specials, NBCUniversal Entertainment. “As with Multiview this year, we continually strive to improve our television broadcasts, and proudly bringing this parade to people’s homes is another example of how we strive to bring families together.”
NBCUniversal, a Comcast company, said this year that overall holiday advertiser spending rose nearly 20% from 2024, driven by strong demand from technology, pharmaceuticals, insurance and restaurants. Additionally, 15% of advertisers are new, meaning they are investing in NBCUniversal’s holiday portfolio for the first time. Among NBCU’s holiday advertising offerings, Peacock offers shoppable advertising innovations such as holiday gift guides and the expansion of “virtual concessions” to holiday classic programming.
“Each year, NBCUniversal is a destination for holiday audiences, and this year our brand has never been more appealing,” said Alison Levine, president of advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal. “With content that reaches audiences across platforms, creates moments of deep engagement and togetherness, and a suite of new advertising innovations, we are helping our partners build meaningful connections with consumers during the most important season of the year.”
