Danny Masterson’s estranged wife Bijou Phillips has filed a petition to have the actor’s last name removed from their 11-year-old daughter’s name.
The model, who was convicted of rape and filed for divorce from the actor in September 2023, requested that her daughter’s name be changed from Fianna Frances Masterson to Fianna Frances Phillips, TMZ reported on Friday.
Representatives for former Page Six executives could not be reached for comment.
Masterson, 49, and Phillips, 45, married in October 2011 and welcomed Fianna Francis in 2014.
Phillips was especially by her ex-husband’s side when he was accused and convicted in May 2023 of two separate rape cases in 2003.
The actress was often photographed holding hands with the “That ’70s Show” alum outside the courtroom.
She also wrote a letter to the judge before sentencing, describing him as a “wonderful father.”
Mr Phillips described the relationship between Mr Masterson and Fianna Francis as “inseparable”.
Masterson, who has maintained his innocence, was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison in September 2023 at North Kern State Prison in Delano, California.
At the time, Phillips was reportedly “unable to accept” that Masterson was responsible for the rape, and a source told the Daily Mail: “Danny is adamant he did nothing wrong and Bijou believes him.”
Sources claimed the “Raising Hope” star is committed to remaining on Masterson’s “side moving forward.”
However, shortly after the verdict, Phillips made the decision to end her marriage to Masterson.
Sources previously told the Daily Mail that Phillips’ friends and family encouraged her to break up with Masterson in order to show her daughter that “even if it’s someone you love, ultimately people have to take responsibility for their actions.”
“Bijou is also doing this to protect his assets and protect his future. He doesn’t want to lose his money, land, or home due to a civil lawsuit against Danny in the future,” the source claimed.
Phillips confirmed she was moving on in June 2024 during an outing with her boyfriend, Jamie Mazur.
