Playboi Carti was charged with misdemeanor assault after getting into an argument with a limousine driver earlier this month.
According to TMZ, authorities allege that limousine driver Carl Reynolds reported the incident as he was transporting the rapper from his hotel to a rehearsal location in Park City, Utah, on October 2nd.
Reynolds claimed that while he was driving, Carti (real name Jordan Terrell Carter) started arguing with his girlfriend, prompting him to intervene.
At some point during the argument, Reynolds said he was punched and decided to pull over to a safer location in Heber City.
The driver also claimed that Carti’s security guards were involved to break up the altercation.
He said in a police report that another driver, who works for the same ALC A Limousine Connection as Reynolds, witnessed the interaction.
Wasatch County Police eventually responded to the incident and recorded Reynolds’ injuries.
Officials with the Calty City Police Department and the Park City Police Department did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
The arrest is just the latest in a series of clashes between rappers and police.
He was charged with domestic assault in 2017 and fined $900 for assaulting a tour bus driver in Scotland in 2019, according to multiple news outlets.
He was arrested again in Georgia in 2020 after police found drugs and firearms in his Lamborghini.
At the time, police said Carti was in possession of 12 bags of marijuana, three guns, Xanax, codeine and oxycodone. He was released on bail the next day.
In late 2022, he was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated assault for allegedly strangling his pregnant girlfriend during an argument over a paternity test.
