The long-running feud between Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez (both dating the same man and both billionaire beauty moguls) appears to be alive and well.
The model, who married Justin Bieber in 2018 shortly after her relationship with Gomez ended for good, seemed to diss the singer in a recent interview with WSJ Magazine.
Asked if she feels competitive now that her Lorde products are sold at Sephora, where Gomez’s Rare Beauty products are also sold, Hailey said, “I think there’s a space for everyone.”
Hailey didn’t specifically mention Gomez or Rare Beauty, but added dubiously: “I don’t feel competitive with people who don’t inspire me.”
The interviewer then asked if she was nervous that Sephora shoppers would compare the two brands, but before she could answer, a spokesperson told her not to do so.
“It’s always frustrating to be pitted against other people. That’s not what I’m looking for,” Haley, 28, later said.
“If people want to see you a certain way and they’ve created a story about you in their minds, it’s not your responsibility to change it.”
However, Hailey’s rep told Page Six that Hailey’s comments were “not directly about Selena Gomez.”
In June, savvy Instagram users noticed that Hailey and Gomez, who married Benny Blanco last month, no longer followed each other on the social media platform after 2023, an era of peace and harmony.
In fact, the year before, the mother-of-one claimed her relationship with Gomez was “all love” and publicly called on fans to “stop” cyberbullying Hailey.
Shortly after, the girls became a hot topic when they posed for a photo together at the Academy Music Gala.
While they were bonding online, Hailey liked Gomez’s engagement announcement, and the 33-year-old songstress returned the favor when Hailey appeared on the cover of Vogue for the first time.
However, they seem to be at odds again.
