one two three.
Kevin Federline claims Britney Spears cheated on him with a backup dancer while they were dating.
In an excerpt from his upcoming memoir, You Thought You Knew, obtained by Us Weekly, the DJ recalls a night out with his now ex-boyfriend in Amsterdam in 2004. The two were joined by Spears’ Onyx Hotel Tour crew, including Teresa Espinosa, who introduced Federline to him just a month ago.
After returning to her hotel room, Spears reportedly told Federline that she would be right back.
“As time went on, I began to wonder what took so long,” he writes in his book. “I thought maybe she was catching up with someone or doing some tour-related business.”
However, as time passed, Federline went to investigate where his then-girlfriend was.
“As I passed one of the rooms, I glanced inside and froze. There she was,” he claims. “Teresa (sic) was sitting on the edge of the bed, and Britney was standing between her legs, with her hands on her face, and they were going crazy. They were totally making out.”
Spears and Espinosa allegedly saw Federline before she returned to her hotel room to pack her bags.
“I just wanted out,” the 47-year-old wrote, stating that he informed the “Toxic” singer that he was leaving the country with his girlfriend.
“She apologized, started explaining and promised that nothing like this would ever happen again,” he claims in the excerpt. “She told me that she didn’t realize how serious I was about us, that she was overwhelmed, and that it was a mistake.”
He claims he told her he was “not interested in a relationship beyond the two of us” before giving her another chance.
“A few weeks in Europe, navigating an emotional minefield together, laid the foundation for our relationship,” he writes.
“They tested us, changed us, and ultimately brought us closer together. It was around this time that I began to realize the depth of my feelings. And while the path forward was never certain, I knew one thing for sure: I was in love with Britney.”
K-Fed and Spears, now 43, met in April 2004 before attending a May 24 performance in Amsterdam.
Despite rumors of a falling out, the pair married in September 2004 and had two children, sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, in September 2005 and September 2006, respectively.
However, two months after the birth of their second child, the music legend filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Since then, their relationship has been contentious and Sean and Jaden have become estranged from their mother.
Amidst Spears’ recent reconciliation with her children, Federline announced he would publish a memoir focusing on his brief time in the spotlight as the pop star’s husband.
In other excerpts highlighted ahead of the Oct. 21 release, the father-of-two claimed his sons refused to see Spears because they were scared of him.
“Sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night and find her standing quietly in the doorway, watching them sleep. ‘Oh, are you awake?’ — she had a knife in her hand,” he claims in the book.
“Then she turned around and drove off without any explanation.”
He went on to express concern that something “bad” would happen to the children if he did not intervene.
“The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s heading toward something irreversible. It’s become impossible to pretend everything is okay,” he added.
“From where I’m sitting, the clock is ticking and it’s getting close to the 11th hour. If this continues, something bad will happen. My biggest fear is that my sons will be left behind.”
In his book, he continues to claim that Spears’ “erratic behavior” is far worse than fans imagined following the end of her conservatorship in 2021. She also claims that she was seen on the phone with ex Justin Timberlake the day before the wedding.
“Once again, Kevin and others are profiting from her due to coverage of Kevin’s book, but sadly this is after her child support agreement with Kevin has ended,” Spears’ rep told Page Six in a statement.
“All she cares about is her children Sean Preston and Jayden James and their well-being in this sensational endeavor. She details her journey so far in her memoir.”
Page Six also reached out to Espinosa for comment.
