Travis Kelsey revealed his detailed reaction to Taylor Swift’s “Showgirls” on his podcast “New Heights.” When asked about being her fiancé’s muse, Kelsey answered at length that she’s “lucky.” He also responded to “Wood,” a casual song about his “masculinity.”
Travis Kelsey waited a few days before sharing his detailed reaction to Taylor Swift’s album “The Life of a Showgirl” on yesterday’s episode of New Heights. The football star had plenty of praise for his fiancée, and had a great response when co-host and brother Jason Kelce asked him how it feels to be Swift’s creative muse. Many of the tracks on The Life of a Showgirl are about Kelce and their love story.
Kelsea downplayed the honor, saying, “I’m just a lucky guy to be Taylor’s support system while she releases one of the coolest albums I’ve ever heard and the world is paying attention to. I’m excited for her and happy for her. Everything seems to have worked out perfectly.”
He revealed that he was able to listen to the album while it was being made, saying, “I was able to watch it from start to finish. She started this thing in the middle of a tour in Europe. I watched everything unfold and it all came together and I watched her connect the dots – from the strategic planning to the whole album – and then I listened to the music and it all came together and in the end she got the 12th song and I was like, ‘Look, it’s done.'”
“From that point on, it seems like she and her label are doing everything they can to make this one of the biggest releases of all time. I’m really happy about that because she’s happy with it. She’s proud of this, and obviously I’m proud of her for going through the hardships to make her dreams come true.”
At the beginning of the show, Kelce proudly said that her fiancée “tilted the world.” He praised her press tour, adding, “She looked great, she sounded great, and this album is really great.”
The Kells also mentioned the New Heights scream in The Life of a Showgirl. Swift sings “New Heights of Manhood” in the song “Wood,” and they thought the lyrics were “cool.”
This song casually sings about her fiancé’s “masculinity”. Jason tried to ask Kansas City Chiefs players how they felt about the memorial. Kelce laughed and said, “It’s a great song.”
“I love that girl, so any song that mentions her in any way (I want),” he added. When her brother emphasized that she was referring to “appendages,” Kelce feigned confusion. “What? I don’t think you understand this song,” he joked.
