need to know
View has a new small audience.
That’s because co-host Alyssa Farrah Griffin, along with husband Justin Griffin, are pregnant.
Their happy news was shared on the ABC daytime series Hot Topic Table on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
“Baby Griffin is on the way and we’re so excited it’s scary,” Alyssa, 36, jokes. “It’s starting to feel very real. This past week I felt the baby kick for the first time. I immediately grabbed Justin’s hand and he felt it. It was magic.”
“Time is flying by, it’s crazy,” adds Justin, 37. “I’ve always wanted to be a father. When you get the news, you feel so present. ‘This is happening!’ But suddenly you zoom out. ”

Time may be moving quickly, but getting to this point has been a long journey for Griffin.
The couple, who wed in November 2021, explain that during their first year of marriage, they felt “ready to start a family.” They tried for two years and finally got pregnant after five rounds of in vitro fertilization (IVF).
During that period, Alyssa learned that she had endometriosis. Endometriosis is when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it, making it difficult to conceive. “I was undiagnosed my entire life until I started this process,” Alyssa says. “That just added to the complications.”
It hasn’t always been easy to stay positive throughout, but each credit the other’s support for giving them strength.
“First and foremost, I have the best partner in the world,” Alyssa says. “As they say, marry your best friend and Justin is mine. Viewing is a lot of work. Luckily, I had the flexibility in my schedule to schedule an early morning appointment in Midtown before racing to play the show.
Alyssa admits that it may not have always been comfortable for Justin. “There were a few times I was an absolute monster!” she laughs. “IVF, it was an emotional roller coaster. My first round wasn’t bad, but I got overconfident and started on the second right away. It’s unlike anything I’ve experienced. You feel out of control with your body.
“There are many things that draw me to Alyssa, and one of them is her determination,” Justin says. “Going into IVF, there was so much of that determination. From the first round until the end, she was always like, ‘Oh, no, I’ve got this. Nothing’s going to get in my way. I’m hard.’

They also had an “amazing” infertility doctor, Dr. Taraneh Nazem, of RMA in New York.
“I loved her,” Alyssa says. “On our first visit, I’ll never forget, she said to us, ‘The good news is you’re going to have kids. I want to tell you up front, it just might take a few rounds.’ And every time we got great news, she always said, ‘I’m going to get you where you want to be with me.’
When Dr. Nazem called on Alyssa to talk about her positive pregnancy results, which fittingly coincided with the conservative commentator’s own birthday celebration, the two cried together on the phone. “She knew how difficult it was, but she made it easy for us,” Justin says. “She was really great.”
“Justin and I feel so grateful that we were even able to do so many rounds of IVF because we were in that position,” says Alyssa. “I think it’s a miracle of science and how amazing we got to where we are now. So there were definitely tears.”

Part of that feeling also came with the news that they were having a boy.
“I’m so excited to be a mom to a boy, even though we have two male dogs, so even though they’re outnumbered at home,” Alyssa says, joking that her View co-host helps balance things out. “But I wanted a boy first. I grew up with sisters, and I always liked the idea of an older brother looking for a younger sibling (because we both want two children).”
That’s something Justin knows firsthand. “I grew up with a younger brother, and you have a built-in best friend,” he shares. “Even now – my brother, he’s my business partner as well. He beat me to the altar and now he rapped me in the delivery room with two amazing kids. And I get to watch him grow into this incredible dad and balance it all so effortlessly. It’s really cool.
In fact, the couple leans on Justin’s experiences with toddlers and nephews, plus 17-year-old nephew Alyssa preparing to become parents through her younger sister. “I remember changing my nephew’s diapers, and now Justin’s niece and nephew have helped me re-up those parenting skills,” Alyssa says. “So we feel as prepared as we can be.”

Of course, it’s safe to say that nothing prepares Griffin for the upcoming experience of parenthood. However, the couple is looking forward to starting this next chapter.
“I can’t wait to hold the baby. It’s going to be the most amazing thing for me,” says Justin. “And I’m excited to relive the most magical parts of my childhood through the lens of my own children.
“It’s like this blank slate of endless possibilities,” Alyssa continues. “And it’s a great responsibility, but I couldn’t think of anyone better to be a partner on this than Justin.”
“They say anything worth doing is hard. Well, now that we’re here, all the struggles feel like that in the rearview mirror,” she adds. “We are very excited about everything going forward.”
