That’s going to leave a mark.
Keith Urban’s love for Nicole Kidman is engraved in ink despite the Oscar winner pulling the plug in his 19-year marriage.
The country singer, 57, has at least four tattoos dedicated to “Moulin Rouge!” The 58-year-old star filed for divorce on September 30th cites irreconcilable differences. The couple shares two daughters: model Sunday Rose, 17, and Face Margaret, 14.
In 2015, Kidman fainted about their relationship in an interview with Vogue. “I looked up at him at some point, saw his tattoos and his feet go, and he had a guitar and I said, ‘God, I love that guy. I’m so happy with this world,” she said.
What about the dedicated body art of a “person like someone” singer? For now, take a look at all four tattoos and what they mean.
“babygirl” neck tattoo
Urban’s most intimate compliments are hidden beneath his shaggy hair. The word “babygirl” is engraved on the back of your neck.
The cheeky nickname took on a new meaning when Kidman starred in the erotic drama Babygirl, which hit theaters on December 25th, 2024. In the film, the actress plays a powerful CEO who risks her marriage and career in illegal events with a much younger intern.
“Keith is not allowed to call someone else to babygirl. But now, for the film, it takes on a different meaning. He said, “No, I still have full rights to babygirl!”
Urban used the pet’s name in his June 2019 anniversary post on Instagram, writing “A continuous discovery of magic, music, romance, wild adventure, pure love. Happy Anniversary Baby Girl. xxxx-ku.”
During this year’s 19th anniversary, Kidman posted “Happy Anniversary Baby” on Instagram, but Urban commented only with heart emojis and did not write his own post.
“Nicol” Humeral Tattoo
Urban’s most visible Kidman Ink is the large “Nicole” tattoo on his humerus, which first appeared at his Live Earth New York performance in June 2007, the year after the pair got married.
The tattoo can be seen in many Urban Instagram posts, including 2019 tributes.
“nmk” wrist tattoo
Not satisfied with Kidman’s name alone, Urban also has a simple tattoo of her initials (nmk) on the inside of her wrist.
This homage is part of the bigger body art Matching Ink Urban has earned with her ex-girlfriend Niki Taylor, who she dated for four years before marrying Kidman.
Urban and Taylor read “Amor Vincit Omnia” and got matching tattoos. According to People, Taylor later hid and deleted her version of the ink.
“Mary” Knuckle Tattoo
Urban concluded his Kidman collection with her middle name, Mary.
According to US Weekly, the tattoo was first discovered in April 2021 at the ACM Awards.
“I suddenly realized that I couldn’t wear the ring in that hand because otherwise her name would be… a variety of (words),” Urban joked in an interview with QX104 Country that year.
