Danica Patrick said Bad Bunny “should not be allowed” to perform at the Super Bowl 2026 Halftime Show because his song is not in English.

On Monday, the former professional racing driver responded to a tweet from a fan who claimed that the Puerto Rican rapper was “President Donald) Trump Harter, an “anti-ice activist” and “no English songs.”

“Ah, fun. English songs should not be allowed, one of America’s most rated television events, not just sports, but one of the top rated television events of the year,” replied the 43-year.

Page 6 contacted the Bud Bunny representative for comments but did not respond immediately.

On Sunday, Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio-born Bad Bunny announced that he will be headlining the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, scheduled for February 8, 2026 at Levis Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

“Tití Me Preguntó” singer, 31, shared the video and news of him sitting on the goalpost in the soccer end zone. He captioned the social media post: “Super Bowl LX Bay Area. February 2026.

At a press conference obtained by Page 6, Bud Bunny said: “What I feel is beyond myself. It came before me and ran countless yards so I can go in and score a touchdown…this is for my people, my culture and our history.”

In Spanish, the hitmaker added: “Abuela, Que Ceremony El Half Time Schodel Super Bowl” translates “Go to my grandmother and tell me it’s going to be a Super Bowl halftime show.”

Bad Bunny frequently criticizes the cruelty of the Trump administration and the US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Up until the 2024 presidential election, Bud Bunny supported former Vice President Kamala Harris after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico “floating island” at Trump’s Madison Square Garden Rally.

On July 4th, the three-time Grammy Award winner released a music video for his song “Nuevayol.”

Several far-right commentators denounced Bad Bunny, who was chosen for the show. Jack Posoviek blamed “Barack Obama’s best friend Jay Z” on the artist’s choices. (Jay-Z entertainment company Roc Nation is creating the Super Bowl Halftime Show.)

But Bad Bunny was supported by several stars, including the women from “The View.”

“A lot of the Magazine people apparently seem very upset with the NFL, but they’re always upset,” Whoopi Goldberg said on Monday’s talk show.

“One other great American performer will be performing. There’s no problem, because I remember Puerto Rico being part of the United States,” added the “Sister Act” actress, 69.

Jennifer Lopez pulled out a bad bunny as a guest during the Super Bowl 2020 halftime performance and tweeted, “It’s your turn now!!! Boli gang is gooooo.”
