Tim Heidecker and Greg Turkington take “cinemas” on the road.
On Wednesday, the duo behind the long-term Avant-Comedy project announced their first “5 certified bags of the Popcorn Tour” since 2019. The tour announcement comes alongside the season 16 premiere of “Cinema,” which premieres exclusively on the subscription-based HEI network website.
The tour begins in Chicago on March 21st and closes in Los Angeles on April 17th. General ticket sales begin on Friday, October 3rd at 10am local time.
Since debuting in 2011, “On Cinema” has evolved from a play-straight up-up of a Siskel & Ebert-style movie review show to a vast cinema universe. Heidecker and Turkington have launched multiple spin-off series, including the adult swim action spice pouf “Decker” and the 2019 political parody “Mr. America.”
