Dr. Richard Miller is back. Scott Wolf is set to return to Fox’s “Doc” in Season 2 of the Multi-Episode Guest Arc from the second half of this season. Additionally, he will direct the episode in early 2026.
“I always knew Richard would never have been his last, but no one had hoped that he would return to the West Side like this.
Wolf appeared in all 10 episodes of his first season as a regular in the series. His character was fired from the hospital in the season finale, making a serious mistake during Code Blue, resulting in the death of a patient, and denounced the incident with Amy (Molly Parker) after the accident.
“I think one of the heartbreaking things about Richard’s story is that he made an honest mistake in a situation where he took his life. But he’s a doctor. You can’t do this job without making any strange mistakes,” Parker told Variety following the season 1 finale. “These people are human. But he’s so afraid of Amy that he’s sure we’ll be so merciless to meet first, so he’d have lost his job.”
With Wolf’s exit, Felicity Huffman took part in Season 2 as a regular role in the series, portraying Dr. Joan Ridley, Amy’s Med School professor and now the early mentor, the new chief of internal medicine at Westside Hospital.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment, “Doc” also stars Omar Metwally, Jon Ecker, Amirah Vann, Anya Banerjee, Patrick Walker and Charlotte Fountain-Jardim.
Season 1 can be streamed on Netflix. Season 2 will air on Tuesday at 8pm on Fox and one of Fox. The next day, it will be streamed on Hulu.
