Jeremy Allen White has joined the list of A-list actors who recently took on the role of rock music icon, playing Bruce Springsteen in the new biopic, Deliver Me Me Groming Me.

Speaking to Variety at the film’s New York premiere, White said he didn’t seek advice from other actors before filming the Springsteen biopic.

“I didn’t talk to Austin (Butler). I didn’t talk to Rami (Malek). I didn’t talk to Timote (Chalamet). And sometimes I wish I had it, but since there was Blues, my process was a little different.” “There was a part of me who wanted to lock me up alone in my room. If I had to reach out to the world, it would be to the man himself.

After he finished filming “delivery me from anywhere,” White went out to shoot Butler and the upcoming A24 crime film called “enemy.” He and Butler were asked if they had bonded about playing musical legends and eventually eliminating those characters. White said, “Austin and I talked about the process.”

“I was already making my own film, and obviously Austin was already making him, and he was very kind,” White added. “I wish I could meet him soon.”

“Delivery Me From Nowhere” follows Springsteen at difficult points in his career after the success of “Born To Run” and “The River,” but “Born in America” Springsteen, who opposes the advice of his best friend and record labels, recorded “Nebraska.”

For the film, White learned how to sing like Springsteen. Springsteen was involved in creating the film and visited the set on multiple occasions.

“A lot of what I learned from the Blues was his actions and how he moved the world,” White said on the red carpet. “Early, I was most impressed with how calm and kind he is to the world. For someone who was in the place for ten years from now, it is still very grounded, humble, honest, beautiful that looks not just with me, but with the world around him, giving hope to all artists.”

“Not streamed anywhere” in theaters on October 24th via a 20th century studio.
