James van der Beek’s daughter Olivia is the same age as the character from Dawson Creek, the show’s pilot.
The actor admitted a perfect circle moment while celebrating his eldest son’s birthday on Instagram on Thursday.
“I’m 15 today,” van der Beek, who played Dawson Reilly on the six-season show, told his followers. “Dawson is the same age as he was on the pilot.”
The 48-year-old posted a footage of Olivia “stage on center stage” at his Dawson Creek reunion on Monday in New York City.
“I’m so confident to see you wearing that red dress… of all the people I’ve known and deeply cherished for so long… I’m just adored,” he captioned a video of Olivia and his 9-year-old sister Emilia.
“I’ve always joked that you gave ‘proof of your parents’,” Van Der Beek continued.
“Last year, I saw you accelerated to so many big decisions, jumping into so many activities, looking at your time, homework and hair (from my perspective, it seems like it requires roughly the same time and focus), so I think it’s a joke that your parents are taking root,” he continued.
However, the “Pause” alum has admitted that Olivia is “not perfect” but has recently been “treated” with “(a) confused” bounty.
Van der Beek advised teens to “continue to the big swing.”
He said, “The flaws in risk. Keep dreaming big and most importantly, staying true to who you are.
In addition to Olivia and Emilia, the “Varsity Blues” star and his wife, Kimberly van der Biek, are the parents of Joshua, 13, Annabelle, 11, Gwendolyn, 6, and Jeremiah.
The couple, who have been married since August 2010, lives in Texas, which moved from Los Angeles in 2020 with their small children.
In August 2023, the “Dancing With the Stars” alum was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and was released the following November.
James felt “cautiously optimistic,” but told people he told fans that he was “when he was completely in the woods for what felt like a responsible time.”
The Dawson Creek reunion on Monday raised funds for James’ cancer treatment and F cancer organization.
James announced a day before the event that he would be forced to miss because of “two stomach viruses,” but sent a surprise video message to fans.
Lin-Manuel Miranda played the role of James in the reading of the first episode, with Broadway Star joining cast members such as Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams, and Busy Philipps.
Phillips, 46, was torn apart in a video on an Instagram story surrounding James’ “sighing” absence, and said he “sobbed” at Olivia and Emilia’s songs.
