Paramount Pictures and Hybe America have completed the cast of upcoming K-pop musical dramas, adding nine stars to their already bustling lineup.
The Korean stars are one of the actors who will be joined in the cast, including Koreans Stars Jun (“Ghost Mansion”, “Villain”), Kan Sora (“Stranger”, “Endless Rain”), and Haion Cholrie (“XO, Kitty”). Yoo Ji-Tae (“Oldboy”), Tony Revolori (“Spider-Man”), and Gia Kim (“Xo, Kitty”).
Also new features in the cast include singer Ahinley, actor-singer Renatavaka (“Malde Amores”, “Midnight Family”), musician actor Syria Capsis (who made history at the age of 17 as the youngest performer in Eurovision 2024), Aliya Turner (“Power Book III: Canaan”), and Shana Kim (“Love Me”).

Benson Lee (“Soul Search”) directs the film. This revolves around young Korean women who defie their families’ wishes by competing in a broadcasted competition to find the next K-Pop girl group. Eileen Sim wrote the latest draft of the script after an earlier version by “Crazy Rich Asians” scribes Adellim and Ellis Hollander and Lee.
The project was the first major American studio film to be fully filmed in Korea, and is currently in production and is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 12, 2027.
James Shin of Hybe America has produced films alongside Epic Magazine and Scooter Braun’s Arthur Spector and Joshua Davis. Executive producers include Joshuah Bearman, John Zaozirny and Scott Manson of Epic Magazine. Paramount’s Vice President of Production Bryan Oh, who oversees the project on behalf of the studio.
The film has been involved in the film since 2020 and was originally founded in a 20th century studio. Michael Ireland, former Paramount film group president, directed the project during development at 20th Century Fox and bought the film on Turnaround from Disney before taking it to Paramount under studio Chief Brian Robbins.
