Violet, daughter of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, gave a passionate speech at the United Nations on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old called for a post-Covid mask order while wearing one of his own to combat “unexempt infections and reinfection.”
The teen also advocated “a very ubiquitous and obviously necessary clean air infrastructure. Children tomorrow don’t even know why they need it.”
Yale students want to “recognize filtered air as a human right, just like filtered water.”
She opposed the relentless beat back to normality, ignoring both the prevalence of airborne transmission and the threat of long Covids.
Violet, who previously revealed he had “contracted for a post-virus condition in 2019,” added, “We’ve been told by our leaders all around that we’re the future. But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes.”
The teenager said she was “terrifying” to the children and “enthussing on their behalf.”
She continued. “It’s the best way to see the kids and say, ‘We knew how to protect you, but we didn’t. We have access to technology to prevent airborne illnesses’.”
Violet’s speech came a year after he spoke to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on the same topic.
In a July 2024 comment, she called for “mask mandatory at county health facilities” and mask availability and high quality free COVID-19 tests.
While revealing her “post-virus condition” at the time, Violet confirmed that she was “alright now.”
Before her speech, Violet was photographed with her parents wearing a mask many times.
She is the eldest son of a former couple, and 53-year-old Affleck and Garner welcome 16-year-old Seraphina and 13-year-old Samuel while they were married between 2005 and 2018.
The actor married Jennifer Lopez in 2022, and although he has split since then, Garner had been out of his relationship with John Miller for about seven years.
The “13 In Progress 30” star became friends with Affleck, and the duo teamed up last year to drop Violet in New Haven, Connecticut.
