Tim Burton and Monica Bellucci are finished.
The 67-year-old writer and director, and the 60-year-old Italian actress and model announced the split in a joint statement on Friday, September 19th.
“The fact that Monica Bellucci and Tim Burton have decided to part ways is to have a lot of respect and deep care for each other,” the former couple said in a joint statement to AFP.
People reached out to Burton and Bellucci for comment.

Exes first met on the red carpet at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival in France, both of which were short meetings that had long-term relationships with others at the time.
They later reconnected in 2022 when Bellucci presented the Lumiere Prize at the Lumiere Festival in France.
Shortly after they sparked rumors of romance, they saw them walking their arms in Madrid, Spain. However, they did not publicly confirm their romance until they joined together at the Rome Film Festival in October 2023.

Burton attended the event to support Bellucci in the premiere of her film Maria Callas: Letter e Memo. According to an independent, reports of the event described Burton as “love and happiness.”
“What I can say… I’m glad I met a guy,” Bellucci told El France in June 2023. “It’s one of the rare encounters in life… I know that guy, I love him and now I’m going to meet the director – another adventure begins.”
Burton cast Bellucci as Delores, the villain of Beetlejuice in 2024.

Before her romance with Bellucci, Burton had a long-term relationship with actress Helena Bonham Carter from 2001 to 2014. In 2003 the former couple welcomed their son Billy and in 2007 they welcomed their daughter Nell.
They were never married, but when the relationship ended, Bonham Carter described it as “divorce.”
“I had a very painful divorce,” she said in 2022 about her podcast therapy work. “It was something that lasted. It’s something else. It’s not that finite. It’s not over. Even if you divorce someone, if you have children, it’s like marriage. The relationship has to change.
Bellucci married French actor Vincent Cassel (from Oceans 12 and Oceans 13) in 1999. The couple welcomed their daughter Deva Cassel in 2004 and their daughter Léonie Cassel in 2010.
