Victoria Beckham gave unusual insights into the dynamics of a “traditional” family with her husband David and her children in a widely reported feud with her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham.
The fashion designer was promoting her three-part Netflix Docuseries, Victoria Beckham, in an interview with Elle on Thursday, looking back at a viral “working class” moment from David’s 2023 documerant Beckham.
When asked if viewers could expect a more hilarious scene like it, Victoria laughed and said, “Even one of our kids said, ‘How many times have you filmed it?” We said, “No, we weren’t rehearsed.”
“That’s what Beckham does. We want to have fun. We love spending time together. We are a very traditional family.
That “traditional” lifestyle includes a daily 6pm family dinner — which means they have to work late at night — and uses her work ethic as an example of her child.
“I’ve always tried to be the best mom and wife I could,” said Victoria, 51.
“After my last show, I remember very vividly the kids and David coming backstage. I had just come out of my exit, and the look of their faces as they approached me – it was a real pinch me moment because I saw how proud they were.”
“It’s healthy that kids know that Daddy is going to work. Mom goes to work. Working will be my best version,” she added.
Victoria’s comments about her family support system come in a continuing feud with her eldest son Brooklyn.
Reports of the rift between Beckham began to surface around Brooklyn’s April 2022 wedding to actress Nicola Peltz.
The feud seemed to have reignited earlier this year when Brooklyn and Peltz were forced to decide to skip David’s 50th birthday party in May and many were unable to help. However, his brothers – Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20 and 14, attended Soirée.
In June, Page 6 revealed that 26-year-old Brooklyn had stopped contacting his parents and siblings.
Most recently, Brooklyn appeared to have disrespected his parents last month by excluding the two at his speech and a renewal ceremony for Peltz’s pledge.
