Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest film, “The Next Battle,” opens the glass section of the 9th Pingyao International Film Festival.

Hidden Dragons include Yang Kun Ao’s “Summer Jet Lag,” Meng Sing’s “Happy Girls,” Lee Dong Mae’s “Guo Ran,” Tan Si Yu’s “Ameba,” Qi yanyan’s documentary “The Toddling Youths,” Zheng Xusong’s documentary “Zhang Zhang,” “Zhang Zhang,” “Zhang Zhang,” and “Deep Circuit Room,” Njo Kui Ying’s “#4 Road to Vendetta,” Ng Kai Chung Tommy’s animation “Another World,” and Luo Yan’s “West Border.”
Crowing Tigers brings international discoveries: “Reconstruction” by Max Walker-Silverman, “The Last Blossom” by Kinoshita Baku, “The Shadow of My Father” by Davies Jr. Akinola, “Wild Foxes” by Valéry Carnoy, “Massacre of Gilles Rais’s sen brasser by Juan Branco, “My Father’s Shadow” by Valéry Carnoy, “The Shadow of My Father” by Davis Jr., “The Last Fox” by Davis Jr., “The Sun Bress” by Massacole. Fujimoto Akira’s “Lost Land,” Yun Gown’s “The World of Love,” Laura Wander’s “Adam’s Sake,” So Matsuda’s animation “Danderion’s Odyssey,” and Hasan Hadi’s “President’s Cake.”
Shank’s maid showcase highlights local talent in Songrei’s “The Nasty Life of Mulan”, Yang Song’s “Prophetic Dreams”, Gui Ying’s “Woman in the Eyes”, Mia Ochuanzhan’s “Daughter”, Kong Zia Huang’s “Falseat Boy”, and Weidong Chen’s “The Road”.
Special presentations include Andrea Segure’s “Great Ambition” and companion short “We and Great Ambition”, Kim Dong-ho’s documentary “Kim Goes the Cinema”, Fen Xiaogan’s “The World Without Thieves” and Zhang Dalei’s “Happy New Year Mr Wood.”
In the cinema section, the lineup will be completed with Yu Shui’s animation “Nobody.”
The 9th Pingyao International Film Festival will be held from September 24th to 30th.
