Matt Reeves says the villain in “Batman 2” has not appeared in the film before

Matt Reeves shares some new details about “Batman Part II.”

In a red carpet interview with Josh Horowitz, Reeves said the highly anticipated sequel will focus more on Bruce Wayne’s character since “first focused so much on Batman.” Reeves pointed out that in previous films the story of origin is often the meat of Wayne’s background, but in “Batman Part II,” fans see the man behind the mask in a new way.

“() I like a lot of other films. What I liked is that once you get through the origin story we haven’t completely done, you did something to point to his origin, so you start telling the story of the Rogues Gallery and the arches like its characters,” Reeves said. “But I didn’t want to lose (Robert Pattinson) at the heart of these stories, so that’s what really set our purpose.”

Director “Cloverfield” explained that the new angle of the sequel is a key consideration when selecting a villain. He teased that Batman Part II’s antagonist “has never actually been done in a movie before.”

Reeves and the entire DC Camp have kept the details about “Batman Part II” very secret. The screenwriter recently said he has put the script in a “secret pouch” and kept it in a “secret pouch” to protect the film from leaks.

“We put (the script) in a secret pouch that literally locks it in the code,” he said. “(Pattinson) was in New York at the time, and everything is high security.”

Filming for “The Batman Part II” is scheduled to begin in theaters in spring 2026 in October 2027.
